Holy Communion (also known as the Eucharist, the Lord’s Supper or the Mass) is celebrated on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at St Nicholas. In this service:
- We gather as the church, the body of Christ
- We listen to God’s word
- We give thanks over bread and wine for all that Jesus has done and continues to do for us and remember the meal Jesus shared with his disciples on the night before he died
- We are sent out to serve God’s word
On Sundays, there is a service using traditional language at 08.00 am. This is a quiet and reflective service that lasts about 35 minutes and is a lovely way to start your Sunday. At 10.30 am the main Sunday Worship is called the Parish Eucharist. This service includes hymns and on special occasions, other activities will take place. Check our calendar for details of what is on soon. The Parish Eucharist lasts an hour and is followed by refreshments in the church.
